Christopher K Bromley, DPM

Christopher Bromley, DPM currently serves as the Department Chair of Foot and Ankle Surgery of Vassar Medical Center. Dr Bromley is the managing partner of a large multi-specialty group in upstate NY. Dr Bromley specialty within the group is Surgery, Sports Medicine and Homeopathy. Dr Bromley has been passionate about nutrition and complementary medicine since entering private practice. He completed his surgical residency in 1992 in Baltimore, MD. His training included such prestigious hospitals as the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins. Currently, Dr Bromley serves as a national speaker and consultant for several companies specializing in Foot and Ankle Surgery. When not in the office and on the podium, Dr Bromley is an on-track performance driving instructor and motorcycle track day instructor. Dr Bromley is very proud of his three children Sarah, Kent, and Alexander.

Bradley Abicht, DPM

Bradley P Abicht, DPM, FACFAS practices at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI where he currently serves as the department chair. He is ABFAS board-certified in foot and rearfoot/ankle surgery, and completed his residency training through the Gundersen Medical Foundation in 2012. His practice and medical interests focus on foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, limb salvage or preservation, foot and ankle arthroscopy as well as minimally invasive techniques in foot and ankle surgery. Dr Abicht is intimately involved with student and resident education and training, as well as active in multiple ongoing research studies with regular annual publications in peer-reviewed forums and scientific conferences.”

Samuel Adegboyega (Dr. Sam), DPM earned his Doctorate degree at New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed extensive residency training in advanced reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at New York Hospital Queens/ Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, an academic affiliate of Weil Medical College of Cornell University. He is currently Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). He is an Associate Professor Department of Medicine and Surgery at NYCPM. He is the Chairman, Division of Medical Science at NYCPM. He is also the Section Chief of podiatry at Harlem Hospital, NY. He is licensed and practices in both states of New Jersey/New York. He enjoys podiatry and offers to his patients’ vast knowledge and excellent clinical skills as it relates to surgery, orthopedics, wound care, primary care, and sports medicine.

Adam Bernatsky, DPM

Adam Bernatsky, DPM currently lives in New York City where he is an associate professor and clinical attending in the department of surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He recently completed a fellowship at the University of Louisville Hospital under the direction of Dr Timothy Ford in rearfoot reconstruction and trauma surgery. Prior to that he graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators) and then went on to receive his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He is an avid Florida Gator and Liverpool Reds sports fan and in his spare time, Dr Bernatsky enjoys being outdoors and exploring. You can usually find him hiking, skiing or boating!

Maryellen Brucato, DPM

A graduate of the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, Maryellen Brucato, DPM remains active in research and academics. She lectures across the country on a variety of topics relating to foot and ankle surgery. She holds an attending position at Morristown Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center where she is able to teach the residents clinically as well as academically. Dr Brucato has experience in treating a variety of different types of patients including athletes, pediatric patients, geriatric patients, and diabetics.

Jeffrey Cusack, DPM

Jeffrey Cusack, DPM is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedics & Pediatrics, New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He received his BS degree in Chemistry at the University of Miami, Florida. Dr Cusack is passionate about biomechanics; when he sees a foot problem; whether callus or bunion or something else; he thinks about what the cause could be from a biomechanical point of view. Why is the callus or bunion located where it is? The mechanics of the foot determine the location.

Louis J DeCaro, DPM is a Podiatric Physician who specializes in pediatrics with a special interest in sports medicine and biomechanics for both adults and pediatrics. Dr DeCaro is President and fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Pediatrics (ACFAP). Dr DeCaro is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry. He also shares a patent on foot types. He is in private practice in West Hatfield and a member of the surgical & medical staff at Franklin Medical Center as well as Holyoke Medical Center. In 2017 Podiatry Management Magazine named Dr DeCaro one of the most influential podiatrists in the country. During 2018 he has been granted the prestigious honor of becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow. As well during 2018 he was honored with being asked to give the Commencement Address for his Podiatric Alma Mater Barry University In 2014 Dr DeCaro started the first ever International Pediatric Foot & Ankle Conference. Now In its 6th year he not only organizes the conference and lectures, but gathers a mix of many different specialties of medicine from around the world to present. And attend. Four times a year he also runs a 1- and 2-day Biomechanics Masters Class around the United States which teaches practitioners comprehensive biomechanics of both the pediatric and adult patient. Dr DeCaro is the Director and originator of the Adult & Pediatric Gait Labs Biomechanics Clinic, which takes place biweekly at his West Hatfield office. It is a multidisciplinary clinic, which evaluates the most challenging of biomechanics patients, and helps to find them answers through orthoses and therapy. Matrona Giakoumis, DPM is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon specializing in complex pediatric and adult foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, sports medicine, Charcot reconstruction and limb salvage. A native of New York, Dr Giakoumis obtained her undergraduate degree from Fordham University and completed her podiatric medical education at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in NY. She underwent three years of extensive training in foot and ankle reconstruction in Atlanta, Georgia where she served as chief resident. She received additional training in pediatric and adult reconstructive surgery in the Emory healthcare system in Atlanta, Georgia where she completed her fellowship. Dr Giakoumis works hard to tailor each individual's treatment and care to his or her specific needs, by practicing evidence based medicine. This helps ensure her patients get the most current and valuable treatments available. She has published several articles and papers, and is a faculty member and lecturer for the Podiatry Institute, an internationally recognized teaching foundation for reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Dr Giakoumis also has a special interest in medical mission work and has worked overseas with Healing the Children (HTC).

Michael Griffiths DProf, DMS, CRT, FRSM is both a clinician and seasoned medical device expert with over 30 years of global experience in the Critical Care, Respiratory Care and Wound Care fields. He received his doctorate from Middlesex University in London, United Kingdom, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. Dr Griffiths heads a leading wound care company with a unique cyclical-pressure Topical Wound Oxygen (TWO2) therapy.

He serves as a surgical training course director, instructor, and lecturer. Dr Guberman is the author of numerous articles in Foot and Ankle Medicine and Surgery and Wound Care.

Anthony Jabra, DPM

Anthony Jabra, DPM is a faculty physician in the department of surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM). In 2016, he graduated NYCPM with honors and received the Dr Keith R. Springer Memorial Scholarship. He went on to complete his residency training at NYCPM/Metropolitan Hospital (PMSR-RRA) and served as chief resident in his third year. During residency, he took advantage of the academic opportunities the school provided by conducting lectures/workshops to the student body. During residency, he presented at the C3 Cardiovascular Symposium in Florida and ACFAS New York Complications Seminar in cases of Charcot limb salvage and adult acquired flat foot. Dr Jabra is published in scientific journals, Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Podiatry Institute. He is currently involved in IRB approval, to begin studying reduction of post-operative pain in a randomized prospective control trial following bunion surgery. Metropolitan and Harlem Hospitals allows him the opportunities to treat diverse pathological conditions affecting the foot and ankle. He continues to advise and positively influence students/residents in broadening their knowledge on clinical exams to diagnose pathology affecting the lower extremity. He enjoys teaching students and residents foot and ankle surgeries with a special interest in flat foot reconstruction and ankle instability. Recently, he and his spouse (Ashley Bittar, DPM: Innovative Foot & Ankle) participated in a surgical mission trip in Comayagua, Honduras treating those who do not otherwise have the opportunity for podiatric medical care. In his free time, he and his wife enjoy biking around NYC.

Warren S Joseph, DPM

Warren S Joseph, DPM is a podiatric and infectious disease attending at Roxborough Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He is a specialist in the treatment of lower extremity infectious diseases. Dr Joseph received his podiatric degree, magna cum laude, from WM Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Dr Joseph completed his postgraduate training in podiatric medicine/surgery at St Joseph's Hospital, and a fellowship in infectious diseases at Hahnemann University School of Medicine, both in Philadelphia. Dr Joseph is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and sits on the IDSA Diabetic Foot Infection Guidelines Committee. He is also certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and currently serves as Editor of the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr Joseph lectures extensively and his presentations have focused on the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections of the lower extremity. He has authored several papers and book chapters in the field of lower extremity infections and is the author of the Handbook of Lower Extremity Infections, now in its third edition.

Reem Sheikh, DPM

Reem Sheikh, DPM currently serves as an attending faculty in the department of surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Sheikh is a graduate of Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and completed her residency training at NYCPM/Metropolitan Hospital Center (PMSR-RRA). She served as chief resident during her last year. Dr Sheikh is passionate about teaching and training residents. She is published in peer-reviewed journals and is currently involved in an IRB approved clinical study evaluating changes to thickness of plantar fascia after laser treatment for heel pain. Dr Sheikh devotes her personal time to her family and her hobbies, which include traveling, photography, and painting. She also calls the great state of Alaska home.

Michael Trepal, DPM is a Professor of Surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and serves as the Vice President for Academic Affairs. In addition, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at New York Medical College and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at SUNY Downstate. Dr Trepal serves as Residency Director for the SUNY Downstate Podiatry Residency. He has published multiple scientific articles and has contributed to many textbooks.

Michael Troiano, DPM is a 2004 graduate Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed residency at the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is in private practice at the Center for Foot and Ankle Disorders in Philadelphia. He is Adjunct Clinical Professor at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in the Department of Surgery, he teaches Biomechanics, and MRI reading. Dr Troiano is a board certified in foot, rear foot, and reconstructive ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff and teaching appointments at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital, Temple University Hospital, Penn Wound Care Center, Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Abington Memorial Hospital and the Foot and Ankle Specialty Center. He takes foot and ankle trauma call at Temple University Hospital and Penn- Presbyterian Medical Center, is a director of the Penn Wound Care Center and is a nationally and internationally recognized lecturer. He has authored and co-authored several journals, articles, and chapters published in various peer reviewed journals and books.

Peter Wishnie, DPM is the President/CEO of Family Foot & Ankle Specialists, LLC in Piscataway and Hillsborough, New Jersey. He is also a physician consultant for the Virtual Practice Managment Institute, a division of Top Practices. Dr Wishnie received his BS degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He went on to receive his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine. He then went on to do his residency at Parsons Hospital in Flushing, New York and a fellowship in podiatric medicine and surgery at the Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. Dr Wishnie lectures regularly on topics such as forefoot trauma, exercise: injury prevention and treatment, the diabetic foot, the paperless office, leadership, and practice management.
